Regularly Scheduled Programming

After the wonderful time at Disney World the family had to go back to regular life. School started back up and so did soccer.

Jason & Kray continued their studies at Bellevue College. Kray is almost done with his AA and Jason is just starting his last term for the 10-11 year.  They are both doing very well. Jason loves his math classes and sets the curve in most of them.  Kray has one more math class and then will go to BYU-Hawaii with a transfer degree. His hope is to study business with an emphasis on the travel industry with a minor in beach life.

Mike, Matt, Chris and Jessie continue studying at home with mom.  They are putting the finishing touches on a huge unit on the human body. They are also excelling at their individual math programs and love studying about the founding of America.  They will end the year just as the Civil War breaks out.

To go along with their studies of the founding of America they took a tour to the Capitol Building in Olympia.  When Kray and Jason were doing this the Capitol was closed because of renovations so it was really neat to go in and tour the building.  We learned a lot about our government and the history of the State.

Soccer

It must be spring (or fall) because Doreen grabbed the soccer balls, cones, pennies and laced up her cleats. It is spring soccer time again!  Doreen was able to coach Matt, Chris and Jessie again this spring.  It was off to a great start and then the rains came. They came so hard that Doreen had a few players actually run off the field it was so cold and the rain was hurting their hands.  Thankfully they were playing on the turf fields so it wasn't muddy.

Matt's team was a decent team and actually put a good product on the field.  Matt maybe small, but he is fast and quick on his feet.  When we had our regular goalie in the box the team did very well. Matt even got a goal!

Chris's team didn't loose a game the whole month of April.  Chris was one of the power house players. He loved to play in the box, but I would rather have him out on the field as he was a much better field player, but since we didn't have any goalies, he was the best I had. And he did an excellent job in the box, it just left us down a good foot on the other side of the field.

Jessie's team was a very small and young team, and did their best to hold their own against bigger and older teams.  Like Chris's team, they didn't have a set goalie so Jessie volunteered often (every game) to play goalie.  She is a born striker and did her best in the box.

Because Doreen is the coach she doesn't get to take pictures, so she give the camera to the kids. Good thing they are digital pictures because they took over 400 photos. Here are just a few.
