Celebrating Life!

Every January when I was little my mom and I would take a moment to write down a bad habit (or two) and then put them in a balloon and never see them again.  Sometimes we would sneak in a goal or some inspirational thought to go with them as well.

When I moved away instead of balloons we would just call, write or email that we sent our thoughts to heaven.

When she passed away, I requested that all of kids and grandkids write a little note and put it in a balloon and send it to heaven. Thankfully my brothers agreed and we sent a ton of balloons to heaven that day.

Then came the next January 5th: my mom's birthday. How was I going to honor her? I thought that we could continue the tradition but this time add my children. So every January 5th we send eight balloons to heaven with a message inside (or on the outside).

It still hurts that my mom is gone because I wasn't done asking questions, but I'm OK with it. She is with my sister and her family once again.  I just hope that I can get rid of enough bad habits to end up with her.

Love ya MOM!

Snow fun

One week of snow makes for a crazy week.

We were able to sleep in--like til 10!

We learned to make bread because we had to.

We had a lot of fun in the snow.

We didn't have to tack on days at the end of the school year because we still got our school work done.
